Harlequins Women remain at the top of the table following a 81-0 victory against Firwood Waterloo Women, marking their long-awaited return from the international break.
Tries from Davinia Catlin, Giada Franco, Heather Cowell, Tove Viksten, Emily Scott, Jess Breach, Emily Robinson and Fiona Fletcher guided Quins to their seventh bonus point win in as many games.
On a freezing, misty morning at Surrey Sports Park, the hosts got off to the perfect start when Catlin crossed over the line after just three minutes and doubled their lead after 12 minutes when Franco finished off a flowing passing move to score in the corner.
The visitors tried to force their way into the Quins half but a stunning counter-attack resulted in Heather Cowell skipping through three defenders and diving over in the corner on the 17th minute.
Quins then camped themselves into the opposition 22 and scored through Viksten and Catlin when they capitalised on the possession and territory, bundling over on the 33rd and 40th minutes respectively.
The sun came out for the second half and six minutes in, Catlin crossed over once again to score her hattrick try following a lineout.
On the 50th minute Emily Scott showed incredible footwork to score a superb individual try and set the precedent for the second half.
Breach opened her account for the day when she topped off a sweeping counter-attacking move on the 55th minute and it only took Robinson a matter of minutes since coming on to touch down on the 63rd minute.
Following multiple pick and go moves, Viksten scored her second of the day after 68 minutes and lock Fletcher picked the ball off the back of the scrum and crashed over to score on the 75th minute.
The penultimate try scored was possibly the pick of the bunch, when some incredible flash handling in midfield saw the ball eventually spun out wide to Breach who crossed over in the corner on the 79th minute.
The match was capped off with Cowell’s lung busting run from the halfway line, and the tired defence simply had no chance as she scored with the last play of the game.
Harlequins Women face Wasps FC Ladies away from home next Saturday, followed by their 50th Tyrrells Premier 15s league fixture taking place against Saracens Women on Saturday 14 December at The Stoop. Tickets are available at tickets.quins.co.uk
