Gloucester-Hartpury started the brighter of the two sides, but despite Quins' stuttering start, they did find themselves in a 7-3 lead after 24 minutes - as Jade Konkel forced her way over to score.
The home side responded with a try of their own shortly after and for much of the first half, Quins found themselves frustrated as their efforts just short of the try-line proved unsuccessful as Quins trailed 10-7 at the break.
A rampant and rejuvenated Quins came out after the interval and the early pressure from the forward pack saw Konkel go over for her second try of the day which restored their lead.
Sarah Beckett dotted down for Quins' third less than ten minutes later - as the visitors' strength grew apparent within the testing, slippery conditions.
As a potential Gloucester fightback looked like it may have been gaining momentum, Quins then broke through once more to score – Shaunagh Brown adding the fourth try to put the result beyond doubt.
Davinia Catlin extended the scoring in the final minutes before a last minute try from Gloucester reduced the size of the 29-17 win for Quins.
